Loftridge Park Trail

Loftridge Park is a Fairfax County park located inside the Loftridge townhome community. You’ll enjoy a shady, challenging hike (or jog) here. The trail is moderately travelled. You’ll run into someone else every now and then, particularly on a very nice day, but you won’t be constantly dodging cyclists or other faster traffic. You pick up the trail at the street at either end.

There are plenty of opportunities for “exploring” and nature watching along the way. Older kids will enjoy crossing the little creeks by hopping from stone to stone, or walking across a fallen log. Don’t forget the bug spray!

Trail surface: Paved, with dirt turnoffs
Freedom Coded: Mostly red. There are creeks along most of the trail.
Double stroller accessible: Sort of. The paved trail is wide enough, but there are some fairly significant hills. Whether you want to navigate this with a double stroller will depend on the weight of your occupants.
Stroller type: Any. The paved portion is smooth enough for any stroller, and if you’re adventurous and have a jogging stroller, try the dirt turnoffs.
Distance: The paved trail is .6 miles from end to end. Walk a loop that takes you via city streets around Franconia Rd and back to your start point, and you’ll walk 1.62 miles.
Loop: no, unless you go around the park on the street.
Shade cover: 90%
Restrooms: no
Parking: no
Getting There: You can enter this trail at Ridge View Drive (GPS Coordinates 38.795096,-77.107772 or view map) or Lofthill Court (GPS Coordinates 38.796958,-77.098881 or view map)
