Mt Vernon Manor Park

Mount Vernon Manor Park is located at 8600 Falkstone Ln Alexandria, VA 22309.Mount Vernon Manor Park in Alexandria VAThere are several entrances into the park, none of which appear to pose a traffic hazard. The park is not enclosed, but the visibility is good. Playground surface is mulch. There is plenty of seating, lots of green space for active games, and plenty of seating. Parking is on street.

There are some hills near the playground area that kids would enjoy to roll down. I was there on a beautiful weekday morning and the place was deserted. The play structure is definitely designed with older kids in mind. There are multiple drop-offs, and supervising a toddler from on top of the equipment would be difficult. The drop-offs are accessible from the ground, but covering them would be difficult because they are so numerous. The slides are short and the baby swings are a plus, however.
Despite the fact that this park is not enclosed, it would be a good place to take a kid who likes to take off because there is plenty of room for them to run without taking you out of view of the playground area. So if you have one older kid who can play independently, you can keep them in view while you chase your toddler. (Probably not ideal for twin toddlers and one adult, unless the adult is endowed with super speed.) This park would be a great choice for a family outing- pack a lunch and a frisbee, come prepared to explore the walking path (still on my list! I can’t wait to see where it goes.) and to hang out for a while!
