UCM Back Porch

UCM’s Back Porch Thrift Store recently re-located to 8794-A Sacramento Drive, Alexandria, VA 22309. I will get there and give you guys the inside scoop when I get a chance. 🙂

This store has crammed a very broad and deep selection into not a very big store. When I’m on the hunt for a particular item, I definitely stop here. However, I find their prices to be a bit all over the map, in that their prices for antique and unique items seem to be about what you’d find anywhere, but some items are quite high and some are quite low. The aisles and display areas are VERY cluttered and difficult to navigate. Getting around the store to shop can border on the dangerous, so I’d advise leaving the kids at home for this one. You definitely cannot shop this store with a stroller, and a grabby baby or toddler would also be out of the question.

  1. Someone asked me how similar this is to Unique Thrift on Gallows Rd. I said Unique is like going to a department store, and this place is like rummaging around in your Grandma’s attic, if she were still putting stuff up there.
